Unicorn SPiT opened my eyes to endless possibilities ! My grandfather, a sign painter in life, guided me in this direction. What a magical combination !Re-Designing furniture is my passion, but large pieces take time to sell. I wanted a product I could customize and make affordable to everyone. I asked my husband to come up with some sort of "sign" created from recycled materials, such as pallet wood.
He came up with several variations such as the one pictured.
As you can see, I LOVE working with Unicorn SPiT vibrant colored stains. I use this product in ALL my artwork. It can be applied in many ways. I prefer my fingers and hands !!! Fingerpainting is the coolest !! ...However, I also use sponges, brushes ,and a damp cloth for varied blending effects.
Don't worry about the nearly empty jars, I always have backup
!!
My collection of stencils has become quite vast....I actually have them organized by genre...well, sort of....Creative people are rarely organized !!!
Larger stencils sit on a shelf in my workshop...Hey, I know what I have and can actually find things rather quickly.....Creative Chaos !
Between being so inspired by my Grandfather, and loving Unicorn SPiT; I have built our entire small business around making signs. Every time I begin to create one, I feel my hand being guided by my Guardian Angel....thanks Pop !
The colors blend without hiding the grain of the wood !
This was one of our very first creations with Unicorn SPiT and pallet signs....I couldn't bear to part with it....it's not only nostalgic for me, but reminds me of Pop.
Another example of color blending...and yes, this d'sign is one of our most popular! It's quirky, vintage, vibrant !!!
Check out Unicorn SPiT in Fall colors !!! Being here in Florida, we don't get to see many colors in nature. I was inspired to create the feeling of Fall with SPiT !
My husband Jim and I have been working on some original d'signs, such as this pallet wood mirror frame. The glass is an actual vintage piece we recovered from a yard sale for $1
This d'sign sums up my life....I was Pop's gypsy girl ! However, I tried making this d'sign for my own home 3 times..and all 3 times, they sold right off my wall !!! I love knowing there are so many Gypsy Souls out there appreciating our work !
And, like I mentioned; thanks to Pop, a sign painter from way back, D'vine D'signs emerges. An endeavor Jim and I are both very proud of. Pop is my d'vine intervention, and inspiration. But without Unicorn SPiT and it's endless possibilities, my dream would not be coming true !
Our last show nearly sold out ! You can imagine that none of the other 65 vendors had such a vibrant display of "grab and go", affordable wall art. BEST IDEA EVER !! Grateful for my d'vine guidance and the creative genius of Michelle Nicole; visionary, inventor, and amazing person !!!
