It is almost the Holiday Season. I love giving "Happy Happies" during the Thanksgiving Holiday. This year I decided to upcycle some old mason jars. It was a fun and creative project. I gathered my stash of trinkets, lace, fabric and my imagination. Anything can be placed into these jars. Jellies, jams, relish, cookies, candy, lotions and potions. . It will give your creativity and imagination a work-out... fun and definitely a Happy Happy...I loved using tassels, feathers, beads and old bits of lace on these jars.
Clean your jars and replace lids if they are rusted. You can buy new metal ones or one piece plastic lids.
Look around your stash and I bet you will find all the "adornments" you will need to enhance your jar project.
I love feathers, esp since we are Hawk's Creek..makes sense,,right? Anyway, feathers make a nice touch to this project.
I have tons of broken jewelry, buttons and all sorts of interesting items. You can use anything on these jars that suits your fancy. You are limited only by your imagination..which means NO LIMITS!
I saved this sheet of prints for years. Perfect for the jars. You can use, wrapping paper, newsprint, cards or sheet music. Lots of themed paper items to choose from.
Add lace, ribbons or any string to the jars. Rusty items are great on the outside:-)
You can fill your jars with anything. I put beans in some with attached family recipe for bean soup, I made a decadent cocoa and included directions, I also made a bath salts.. included directions and ingredients.
I topped my jars with old feed sack material, lace, burlap and other cool fabrics. Tied with jute, lace and ribbon.
Add a card with ingredients or just a sweet sentiment written for a friend.
You can use Modge Podge or make your own fixative. In either case it is easy peasy.
