Antique Chest of Drawers

I love hearing stories about the furniture I buy. The woman I purchased this piece from said it belonged to her grandmother and she remembers putting her make up on at it when she was younger. The finish was worn and I wanted to give it a fresh, new look while still giving it a classic feel.

After. Refinished in a custom white and Antique Walnut gel stain from General Finishes.

Before. A little dark and dated.,

I kept the original pulls but one of the original knobs was missing so I replaced them with these antique brass and turquoise ones.

The top looks a million times better! I sealed it with 4 coats of water-based Varathane. You can find more pics on my blog (link below).
