This room has gone through many transformations since we moved in to our home a few years ago. It was at one time a really cool craft/office/closet room but now that I have gone back to work and we lack closet space I decided to turn this into a "dressing room" where I can bring out all my seasons of clothing and shoes. No longer to I have to find space for my clothing tubs when the seasons change. A lot of what I used I already had. I repurposed my dresser, I took apart my bookcases into a small set of four for my shoe storage under the clothes. The clothing racks are just shelving and poles that we customized ourselves and cost less than $150 for the room. The only few things I have left to change are the doors and trim. However, I did paint a bohemian styled mural on my bathroom door for a bit of quirky. To see more photos and some before's of the room you can check out my blog. sThis is what it looked like when we first moved in. It was the room that held our junk. The doors still need changed but until we make it to the rooms upstairs with the remodeling I just painted a little bohemian like mural on the door to add a bit of quirk.I took apart my 2 old rickety bookcases I had that were not sturdy and used the durable halves for shoe storage underneath my clothing racks. I added some fold up boxes in teal to put my flip flops, flats, and tennis shoes in.Someday I want a bigger rug but I also had this rug in storage so I just used it for now. The stool I've had for years and just through a vintage cloth I picked up at a flea market about 8 years ago. This wall has two doors on it so I could only use part of the wall for shelving and a closet, which is fine because it worked out perfect for my jackets and scarves. The inside of my closet I put my small desk and some shelves my kids had laying around. It's not perfect but for now it works. I like using what I have and it works out great for my books, magazines, and important paperwork. This dresser was a cherry wood and a hand me down from my parents. It was very scratched and beat up so I white washed it several times, sanded it down and painted the pulls a teal. I wanted it to look very bohemian and rustic.I originally wanted a parsons like chair for my room but when I saw this at Target on clearance for 15 bucks I figured it would be perfect. It's a lot more comfortable and cozy and be great for when my girls come in to hang out with me.Original article and pictures take http://www.hometalk.com/10859661/spare-bedroom-turned-dressing-room-on-a-budget site
