Ever spy a gem in a thrift store and you know just what to do with it? It gives you that tingly feeling and you rush home with it. eep! That's what happened when I found this antique cedar Acme Chest. It was badly layered with who-knows-what, but after much TLC it was given new life. My love of vintage typography made this piece all the more sweet and added to the historical story behind its beginnings. This vintage advertisement with gorgeous typography made my project all the more sweeter. I hand painted the design and find such therapy in doing so.Here is what I spied while thrifting. Doesn't look like much now, does it?It looked as if something had been dumped all over the top of this antique red cedar chest and other gunk was stuck to it.
