This month I was lucky enough to get in on the Fab Furniture Flippin' Contest for their "Spray It Pretty" theme.
I had this table laying around that I picked up at the thrift store. I had absolutely no use for it but it was marked $2 and it was half off furniture day!!!!! So for $1, nice lines and some feminine detail, I had to take this one home with me.
As you can imagine, when you buy a table for $1, it may need a little work. So the first thing I needed to do was a little fixing up. This one was pretty wobbly. A few pocket holes and some scrap wood and it was ready to stand strong once again.
I got to use my Homeright paint sprayer to paint this baby. Home right was nice enough to send me one to try out. It was the first time I used it and I was a little nervous. Think, me covered in paint because I push a button and paint goes flying everywhere and I can't manage to control the flailing sprayer! Well, that didn't happen. I actually plugged it in expecting a noise or something and.....nothing! It doesn't make any noise until you pull the trigger. I was pleasantly surprised. It also doesn't spray a 10 foot wide cone of paint that goes everywhere. It is much less scary in real life than it was in my head.
This is only one coat of Mohair Blue and that was all this table needed!
How awesome is this fabric with this paint color! Could it have been any more complimentary?!?!?!
Once that was on and my fabric was all lined up, I started stapling.
Yes I have the oldest stapler known to man. I need an upgrade, bad! Tell my husband, won't you?
Because this table had a wonderful overhang, I wasn't concerned with covering the staples as I would do if I were stapling on a more noticeable area.
Once I completed stapling all the way around, I was able to sit back and put my feet up, after I cleaned up my mess :) Isn't she pretty?
