Wood Slice Chalkboard Banner

When a large branch fell from a neighborhood tree I knew I wanted to use it to create a wood slice craft.
So I ran it under the miter saw and cut it into rounds. Then I decided I would create a garland out of the slices.
In order to make them re-usable I painted them with chalkboard paint which will allow me to change what is written on them. I love how they look, when hung on the mantel and I can't wait to use them for many seasons to come!
For additional photos and ideas for the banner, visit the link at the bottom of this post.

The branch.. which wasn't in great shape, but had a nice thick bark perfect for slicing!
