How To Create the Look of a Stone Floor Out of Old Linoleum

I was really tired of our old linoleum floor in our powder room. It was chipping in places and not in the best shape. Plus, it was pretty ugly. My linoleum floor in our powder room had seen better days. It was chipping and looked very old and tired.

I used paint to create the look of real stone and for under $150, I now have a new floor!

I created this look with layers of chalk paint. I used Annie Sloan products. First was a coat of Country Grey and then a coat of the color, Coco.

Most old linoleum floors have a texture to them. I used this to my advantage. I added white into the Coco paint to create a lighter hue. I then dry brushed it over the linoleum. It highlighted the bumpiness of the linoleum. I did it again with an even lighter mixture.

The linoleum now looks remarkably like real stone!

I sealed the floor with Annie Sloan Lacquer It is a non-yellowing product that is specifically for painted floors. It went on easily (no odor) and sealed the paint. It's water resistant which is perfect for a floor that will need to be cleaned.
