Kroehler Dresser Makeover

This dresser started out as the joke of a yard sale I attended. When I told the lady I was going to buy it, she kind of chuckled and said, "This was the one piece at this sale that we didn't think anyone would buy!" It was $2 and I knew it had loads of potential so I was happy to buy it.

The veneer was in horrible shape so I had to remove it all. That is very easy to do with a wet towel. It comes off so easily after letting a soaked towel sit on it for a while. Thanks to for that trick!

Once the veneer was off and I took off the handles and filled the holes, I had a blank slate to work with.

I love finding stamps on furniture that tell me the brand and maker. I am able to find out a lot about a piece when I find treasures like this.

I painted the drawers, top and sides with a light gray color. I left the wood trim around the edge because I love the mix of painted and raw wood.

I added some beautiful knobs from Hickory Hardware and this cast away dresser was complete.
